At The Arc you’ll find two fantastic exhibition spaces: The Gallery and City Space.
The Gallery is a government indemnity standard space, which was built to host exhibitions of nationally and internationally significant artworks. Hampshire Cultural Trust curates this space with national lenders, such as Tate and the British Museum, or directly with artists such as Frank Bowling OBE RA and Elizabeth Blackadder DBE RA RSA. In tandem with this programme, City Space is also curated by Hampshire Cultural Trust.
City Space is dedicated to Winchester artists and looks to create a dialogue with The Gallery programme by sharing or opposing themes, providing a local response or spotlighting a local talent. As with all our community spaces, it is primarily for artists connected to this area, Winchester, although we do look further into Hampshire and Southampton on occasion.
While we do not accept proposals for either gallery, for the City Space programme we would be very pleased to hear from you. We hold an artist/arts practitioners register, which we can draw upon when planning the programme. If you’d like to join it, please follow the link below to a short questionnaire for you to share some information about you and your work.
Neither gallery is available to hire independently.
