Parking at the Old Winchester Hill Car Park we take a steep descent on the South Downs Way down Whitewool Hanger before a steadily increasing ascent on the Monarch’s Way to complete a circuit of the National Nature Reserve. An appreciation of the magnificent site is achieved by taking in views from below and on top and expending a little energy in the process.
