Summer Holidays: Lino print a music themed poster
Join us this summer for a slightly more in-depth making session inspired by the Summer Reading Challenge: Read to the Beat, exploring how music can be turned into bold visual designs.
In this workshop, children will learn the basics of lino printing to create their own music-inspired imagery. We’ll carve simple shapes, patterns and symbols into lino blocks, thinking about instruments, sound, rhythm and movement.
Once the designs are ready, we’ll print onto paper and experiment with layering and combining shapes to create striking A3 posters. Some designs can be shared and repeated across the group, building up really fun, collaborative results.
It’s hands-on, a bit different, and really satisfying. You’ll leave with a finished poster ready to hang up at home.
Don’t forget, we have a café at The Arc for light lunches, snacks and drinks if you’d like to make a day of it.
