Summer Holidays: Lets paint to music!
Join us this summer for a fun, music-filled workshop inspired by the Summer Reading Challenge: Read to the Beat. A chance for children to explore how sound, rhythm and imagination come together, using music as the starting point for making something bold and expressive.
In this lively, collaborative session, we’ll be creating one long, colourful artwork together. As the music plays, kids will respond to the beats, rhythms and sounds through paint, marks and movement. Think splashes, patterns, fast lines, slow shapes and everything in between.
We’ll experiment with all sorts of tools, from brushes and sponges to sticks and even toothbrushes. There’s no right or wrong way to join in. It’s all about trying things out, working together and having fun with the process.
Expect a relaxed, slightly messy and very joyful atmosphere, with music ranging from calm to loud and playful to keep things interesting. Dress for mess!
Don’t forget, we have a café at The Arc for light lunches, snacks and drinks if you’d like to make a day of it.
