Our art classes are focused on exploration, experimentation, and creativity. In this welcoming environment, you'll have the freedom to express yourself artistically without judgment.
We'll provide all the necessary materials, so you can simply relax, let go of any pressure, and enjoy the process of creating. It's a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, make new friends, and have a wonderful time together.
In the final week, you will prepare your work for display - a piece of your choice will be hung along the corridor walls directly outside the learning rooms in The Arc to show off your skills to the public!
- 23rd April: Still Life drawing/introduction to course
- 30th April: Grayson Perry exhibition visit before creating work inspired by Perry to represent ‘the self’ using mixed media painting techniques
- 7th May: Watercolour techniques – botanicals in a classic style, plus some abstract fun!
- 14th May: Figure drawing exercises
- 21st May: Lino printing
- 28th May- no class/half term
- 4th June: Clay sculpting and carving techniques
- 11th June: Clay painting (using pieces from previous week)
- 18th June: Collage/mixed media
- 25th June: Fred Appleyard visit and creation of landscapes ‘in the style of’ using acrylic paints
- 2nd July: Mixed media painting exercise, plus prepare work for the class mini exhibition- tbc!

We listened to your feedback and July onwards will be ticketed via 5 week blocks! Sign up to as many as you'd like - each 5 week block will each cover the basics to build your core art skills, but wiil delve into new techniques each time also.
