Painting Place examines the landscape paintings Eric Ravilious made featuring the South Downs, exploring how the chalk geology echoes through his paintings, offering both a familiar comfort combined with an unsettling forewarning and considering his influences and the artists he worked alongside, ensuing a legacy of place.

Coffee and refreshments are available before and after the talk in the café, and they can be brought into the Learning Rooms.
