Inspired by the Infinite Beauty exhibition and the enduring appeal of nature, this exciting course will enable you to explore mark making directly using nature and natural objects.

Part one will involve a briefing on making a series of visual samples for the course. You will then spend time in the gallery reviewing the exhibition and making visual notes of different artists’ approaches to mark-making and how human activity has marked the ecologies around us.

Part two will include experimental mark making directly with materials gathered from nature and making your own tools with these natural materials to create really exciting marks.

Part three will involve creating a final piece or series of pieces on the theme of Infinite Beauty using collage, colour and paint to bring together all the different samples of marks that you have created in parts one and two.
