Discover the wonder of printmaking with artist printmaker Katherine Anteney and making your very own Eric Ravilious inspired relief print.

For the very young Katherine will work with polystyrene blocks, pressing in images using a pencil. When the block is ready Katherine will teach you how to print your image – creating your first limited edition print. You can take your block away to create more at home.

Please make sure every child has a grown up to share the morning (no cost for grown-ups)  and come in old clothes to ensure your child can get messy and be at their most creative!

Katherine Anteney is a printmaker and bookbinder from Southampton, Hampshire. Her main practice is linocut, letterpress, monoprinting and bookbinding. You may occasionally see her screen-printing too. She studied at Winchester School of Art and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Printmaking in 2004, but she’s always learning and trying out new things. In 2004 she co-founded Red Hot Press in Southampton, an open access print workshop.

The café will be available for refreshments before and after the session. This workshop is part of our programming celebrating the exhibition, Extraordinary Everyday. Why not take your child to see the exhibition?
