A three-week course taking inspiration from the rich colours and patterns of India, with which Designers Guild has often drawn upon; these series of workshops will be focusing on the block printing techniques used to create patterns on cloth. Following the design process, the course will give its participants skills to design and cut their lino (week 1) and create (week 2) hands-on fabric prints, before moving in the last week to the Digital Lab where participants will develop their printed fabric, adding colours and creating a repeat design using Photoshop. You will walk away with a hand printed fabric sample, a digital design, and in collaboration with  Winchester School of Art / University of Southampton your digital design printed on their in-house Mimaki Textile Printer, ready to make into a cushion or textile product.
