The Firebird is a Russian folk story of a magical bird who is captured when it steals golden apples from a tree in the grounds of a castle. It offers its captor, the prince, a magical feather to free it and tells him about an evil sorcerer who lives nearby. So begins a mysterious adventure that has many twists and turns.

We will be using materials and textiles that echo the flamboyant fairy tale and the styles in our exhibition, ‘Out of the Blue’ to make puppets using a range of textiles, card and paper, and other materials. Kids get to let their imagination range far and wide to create their puppets: and then they perform the tale to families and friends.

Saturdays 4 June – 9 July, 10.00am

Tickets £55 (£44 concessions)
