Songwriting Workshop with Winnall Rock School for ages 9–13
This activity is part of The Arc’s COWfest 2026 programme, a free and inclusive festival for children and families in Winchester and beyond, celebrating creativity, play and community. The Arc acts as the festival hub, with additional activities taking place at community locations across the city on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February.
Join Winnall Rock School for an exciting songwriting workshop where children can create and perform their very own song. Whether they are inspired by pop stars like Taylor Swift, chart hits they love, or their own original ideas, this session encourages young musicians to explore lyrics, melody and musical storytelling in a fun and supportive environment.
Led by experienced music tutor Peter, the workshop will guide participants step by step through the songwriting process, helping them build confidence, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life. No previous songwriting experience is needed.
All resources are provided. Children just need to bring their imagination, enthusiasm and love of music.
