Making a beautiful, foraged Christmas wreath is an entirely sustainable and rewarding project. Crafting a stunning Christmas wreath doesn't require plastic or store-bought kits, in this workshop we will use foraged, and natural materials.
Crafting with natural elements is rewarding, eco-friendly, and uniquely beautiful.
This workshop is designed for:
- Eco-conscious homeowners and sustainability advocates.
- DIY crafters, gardeners, and hobbyists.
- Holiday hosts looking for unique, rustic home decor.
Perfect for beginners or those who have made a wreath before.
We will build a rustic frame using bendy twigs, or you can use wire to form a ring.
Simply layering evergreen foliage, berries, and pinecones, and secure everything with natural garden twine.
Foraged flexible branches like willow, hazel, or birch are ideal materials. Weaving them together into a circle, overlapping the thick and thin ends until it is secure.
Go for a walk to forage or check your own garden for a mix of textures and colours. Cut stems to about 6-8 inches long.
A selection of materials will be provided, but feel free to forage and bring some of your own -
Gathered foliage and accents such as:
- Greens: Pine, fir, cedar, ivy, bay, holly, or eucalyptus.
- Berries: Rosehips, cotoneaster, snowberries, or holly berries.
- Decorations: Pinecones, dried orange slices, or cinnamon sticks.
Please bring and old shirt or apron.
About the Artist:
Nicky Bell is a passionate artist with extensive experience in Sumi ink and watercolour painting. She is known for her expressive style and ability to capture the beauty of nature. More recently known for simple creative textile project workshops, born from her love of nature and sustainable textiles and teaching it in schools. Nicky is a patient and encouraging instructor, dedicated to helping students discover their creative potential.
