Join us for a talk with Photographer, Simon Bray.
Simon Bray is an artist and educator based in Winchester who explores our experiences of loss, place, time and our connection to one another.
His upcoming exhibition at The Arc, 'Searching Beneath the Silence' is a contemplative search for solace amidst loss. Exploring the internal, external and potential of the eternal through the beauty and fragility of spiritual and natural spaces.
Simon will invite guests through a short tour of the exhibition, which features photography, sculpture, audio and text, before discussing the process of creating the artworks and the practice of disseminating the aesthetic quality that is held within our emotional responses.
Simon's work has been shown at The Southbank Centre, Manchester International Festival, Open Eye Gallery, Brighton Photo Biennial, and featured by The Guardian, British Journal of Photography and on BBC One.
He has undertaken commissions for The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Telegraph, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4, Audible, V&A, National Geographic Traveller, The Wildlife Trust, NFU, NHS & Waitrose.
He previously worked as creative producer for photographer Martin Parr and is currently a lecturer in Photojournalism at Bournemouth University.
